Douglas Thayer was born in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He received a Bachelor of Fine arts at RIT’s School of American Crafts in 1993.

Douglas works in his studio in Massachusetts. His current body of work combines the use of wood and concrete. His work is exhibited nationally and has been recognized in various publications.

Artist Statement:
I build furniture for the pleasure of creating beautiful objects. The message of my work is simply one of beauty and harmony. Through comfortable proportions and clean elements my work exists quietly and peacefully within its surroundings.
